LONDON -- Whatever happened to the great decoupling? The euro is a decade old, the Chinese economy has been cruising in top gear for almost half a decade, the other nations that make up the BRIC - Brazil, Russia and India - are motoring nicely and then this happens. Wall Street loses its nerve because a few investment banks lost a bundle and stock markets round the world lose their trousers.
