Ailing Dell looks to Wal-Mart

In a dramatic shift in strategy, Dell Inc. is expanding its Internet and telephone direct-selling model to offer its computers at Wal-Mart Stores Inc., the world's largest retailer. It's a signal that Dell needs to change its sales strategy to catch up to rival Hewlett-Packard Co., which has gained the top spot in the global personal computer sector from Dell, analysts said. HP sells its products at major chains such as Wal-Mart and Best Buy.
