A 68-cent weakling no more
The loon is the most Canadian of birds. It spends a long time submerged under water, and is slow to take flight. It has to flap its wings and run halfway across the surface of the lake before it gets enough momentum to hoist itself into the air.
But sometimes it can soar higher than an eagle.
Canadians stood a little taller and a little prouder yesterday as our dollar became worth more than the greenback. Okay, it was only a blip.
