Reeling auto-parts companies seeking $400-million infusion

Canada's auto-parts companies, hammered by the rise in the Canadian dollar, are seeking a $400-million “emergency” financial injection from the federal and Ontario governments. “Our industry is facing its biggest challenge in 30 years and extraordinary measures are required to save Canada's largest export industry,” said Gerry Fedchun, president of the Automotive Parts Manufacturers' Association of Canada.
