Competition watchdog calls for open skies

Canada's competition watchdog is recommending that Ottawa unilaterally open up the airline industry to foreigners as part of a rewrite of federal business laws under consideration.
Competition Bureau commissioner Sheridan Scott is telling the Competition Policy Review Panel that Ottawa should allow foreign carriers to provide point-to-point service within Canada and establish their own airlines to offer domestic flights.
