Dell cost cutting hits Ottawa

Dell Canada's unfinished new offices in the Ottawa suburb of Kanata will remain empty for the time being because the company has scrapped plans to staff the new facility and will trim an undisclosed number of workers from its existing call centre operations there.
The layoffs were announced yesterday as part of a worldwide cost-cutting program laid out in June by the computer maker.
