Flextime: take it away at your peril

As employee benefits go, flextime isn't sexy. And with some surveys pegging its popularity at over 70 per cent of North American companies offering some kind of flexible option, it's not even considered revolutionary. But take away an employee's right to work 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. so he can pick up the kids at daycare, or she can be home in time to feed her aged mother an early dinner? Be prepared for a highly disgruntled employee ready to walk.
