BCE deal backed, with conditions

The Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan has been given a green light by the federal communications regulator for its takeover of BCE Inc., clearing one of the last hurdles to the $35-billion deal.
The Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission will, however, require Teachers to make several corporate governance changes, most of which the Canadian pension firm and its U.S.
