Shaw profits as demand rises
Shaw Communications Inc. reported higher profit in the fiscal second quarter as it benefited from stronger demand and higher prices for its communications services, along with a tax recovery.
Profit advanced to $299-million, or 69 cents a share, in the quarter ended Feb. 29, from $80-million, or 18 cents, in the year-earlier period, Calgary-based Shaw said on Friday.
