Canadian pension funds log three quarters of losses

The turmoil in world equity markets dealt Canadian pension plans a third straight quarter of losses, RBC Dexia Investor Services says, although the weakening of the loonie during the period helped dull the pain.
The value of funds monitored by the Toronto investor services and custody firm slipped by 1.9 per cent during the first quarter, it said Friday, bringing losses for the 12 months ending March 31 to 2.7 per cent.
