CRTC proposes splitting TV fund

A federal report is recommending key changes to the way Canadian television shows are funded, suggesting “audience success” should determine which TV productions get access to $150-million collected each year from cable and satellite subscribers on their monthly bills. The decision comes after cable companies Shaw Communications Inc. and Vidéotron Ltee.
