Ottawa may backtrack on reactor, MDS chief says

TORONTO — — The chief executive of MDS Inc., the company that distributes medical isotopes produced by federal nuclear reactors, says he thinks Ottawa may change its mind about cancelling plans to build the new “MAPLE” reactor. Stephen DeFalco told analysts on a conference call Thursday that MDS plans to hold discussions with the federal government on the issue.
