Oil sands must be developed responsibly
A Strategic Counsel/Globe and Mail survey conducted this year on Canadians' attitudes toward oil sands development was a classic good news/bad news story for our industry. On the one hand, 79 per cent of respondents said the oil sands have been good for Alberta and the rest of the country. On the other hand, 55 per cent said they believed development of the resource is having a negative effect on the environment.
