Tax department panned as Walsh case thrown out

Bre-X Minerals Ltd. collapsed more than 10 years ago amid allegations its supposedly rich gold find in Borneo was a fraud, but Canadian tax officials have kept pursuing the family of company founder David Walsh over allegations they owed more than $30-million in taxes. That pursuit has now come to a end in two cases involving Mr. Walsh's sons, Brett and Sean, and the Canada Revenue Agency is facing some tough criticism from a Tax Court of Canada judge over its tactics.
