WestJet cuts Toronto-L.A. route

WestJet Airlines Ltd. will be suspending its Toronto-Los Angeles route this fall, and letting service lapse between Calgary and Newark, N.J., but says it remains committed to expanding total seat capacity, cushioned by trips to Mexico. "Toronto to Los Angeles was intended to be year-round," WestJet spokesman Robert Palmer said yesterday, noting that the service is slated to end Nov. 1, less than a year after it was relaunched.
