Client conflict rulings focus of new code

QUEBEC — The Canadian Bar Association created a new code of conduct yesterday aimed at clearing up the morass of client conflict rules that have come to plague sole practitioners and mega-law firms alike. "We recognized that action is desperately needed," said Robert Patzelt, a Halifax lawyer who served on the task force that developed the policy. "We are lawyers, and we find ways to interpret the law to the benefit of our clients.
