European stocks rally

LONDON — European stocks soared and Wall Street looked set for a strong opening on Friday, boosted by comments from investor Warren Buffett and more encouraging news in the financial sector, while sterling tumbled on British data. U.S. stock futures were up 0.9 per cent after Mr. Buffett said stocks were more attractive than a year ago. Europe's FTSEurofirst 300 index also rose 1.
