Central bank faulted for low pay, irrelevant studies

OTTAWA The Bank of Canada's economic research is seriously hampered by underpaid researchers who are stifled by micromanagement and a penchant for examining irrelevant issues, an external review says.The central bank's 42-person research team is probably the largest economic shop in Canada, and aims to be at the global forefront of economic thought and modelling in order to give the central bank a solid basis for policy making.
