Wage raises to slow in '09
Canadian workers will see lower salary increases in 2009 as employers respond to slowing economic conditions, according to two new surveys released Wednesday.
A report released by consulting firm Mercer forecasts wage increases of 3.8 per cent next year, down from 4 per cent in 2008, while another survey from Hay Group suggests wages are set to rise 3.7 per cent in 2009.
