Do Not Call List could give boost to direct mail

Canadians will finally get the opportunity to respond, en masse, to the faceless callers who for years have interrupted dinner hour with unsolicited marketing pitches.Tomorrow, the country's communications regulator will launch its national Do Not Call List (DNCL), giving households and cellphone users the chance to opt out of most unwanted telemarketing calls and introducing heavy fines for organizations that decide to ignore the new rules.
