Financial tremors rattle emerging powers

RIO DE JANEIRO, TORONTO — There is nowhere left to hide from the financial turmoil on Wall Street.A market panic in Latin America yesterday suggested that even dynamic emerging economies are falling victim to the spreading crisis. Trading was halted briefly on Brazil's stock market after its shares went into freefall. Markets around Latin America followed the plunge, with big losses registered in Mexico, Argentina, Colombia and Chile.
