The Liberals' fascination with Julie Couillard never ceases to amaze me. I suppose a discussion of carnal desires beats talking about the bottom line if you are Stephane Dion.
I'm sure her book is more entertaining to read than the "Green Shift" but I'd hold off buying it for a few weeks because like any Danielle Steel novel it will be in the discount bin in no time. Smart consumers should be able to get the two-for-one deal and pick up the aforementioned Dion book simultaneously.
In any event, CTV is running a new episode of "Dancing with the Stars" this evening at 8pm eastern - the same time as the French Debate. Dance fans should be celebrating the choices they have this evening. If you want to see some real floor moves I suggest viewers take in Dion's waltz with Economy, which sees him stepping on his partner's toes.
As for Fred McTavish, he was last seen sleeping in his chair knocked out comatose after being forced to listen to a Ken Dryden speech on...well, anything.

I suppose a discussion of carnal desires would describe what will continue to happen to Canadians when the Conservatives form the next government.- Posted 01/10/08 at 12:32 PM EST | Alert an Editor | Link to Comment

Eric Williams from Ottawa, Canada writes: Oh please Tim. I've seen you many times on TV and you are so beholden to the Conservatives it makes me ill. Hey, the whole Couillard thing is the funniest thing in Canadian politics. Let's put it this way, what did Bernier see in this lady (except the obvious physical attributes) and why did he leave his briefs behind? Doesn't his liason with this lady question his judgement?

sea andthemountains from Canada writes: Out of curiosity Tim, what is you arrangement with the party? When I see you on TV or here on the Globe's web page doing their dirty work etc, how are you paid for that? Are you on salary or is it a pay per output regime or are you just paid in other ways? Again just curiosity?

Joe Little from Cowtown, Canada writes: Tim, did Harper reserve some position for you if he wins this election? Any promise from him? - it may mean nothing as his other promises. You know his history does tell something - he became enemy of Jim H and P. Manning. He could dump you at any point as well.

Brian C from Canada writes: Geez people, read Tim's bio. It's right there for you on the left of your monitor, since you're too lazy to do any research yourself.
Neither Tim Powers nor Robert Silver hide their affiliations with their respective parties. That's what makes reading their tete-a-tete so entertaining.
It's the moles disguised as un-biased journalists on this site that you should be disgusted with, like Gloria Galloway, who's married to Liberal mouthpiece Mark Dunn.- Posted 01/10/08 at 2:35 PM EST | Alert an Editor | Link to Comment

Jake Skiffington from Ottawa, Canada writes: The LIBERALS' fascination with Coulliard?
That's a good one!
The Cons were apparently so fascinated with her that she casually and with no opposition whatsoever, swept in and took the fools for all they were worth. Casually asked for and received cushy jobs for family members, had her hands on top secret information with no effort at all and who know what else?
The Cons are incompetent fools.- Posted 01/10/08 at 4:12 PM EST | Alert an Editor | Link to Comment

Anthony B from Maritimes, Canada writes: Another pathetically juvenile attempt by Mr. Powers to divert attention from the issue at hand..
In spite of his advice to “hold off buying it for a few weeks” (no doubt, until after the election) the book is a major embarrassment for the Conservatives and reveals just how incompetent a senior cabinet minister was, and how poor Harper’s judgement was in appointing him.- Posted 01/10/08 at 9:07 PM EST | Alert an Editor | Link to Comment
