Canada Mortgage and Housing Corp. reports on housing starts for October. Annualized starts of 200,000 are forecast, down from 217,600 in September.

Statistics Canada releases its new-housing price index for September. Economists expect a decline of 0.1 per cent, compared with no change in the prior month.

WestJet Airlines Ltd. reports. Third-quarter share profit of 40 cents is expected, down from 58 cents in the same period a year ago.

Nortel reports third-quarter results. Analysts expect a loss of 38 cents (U.S.) per share, compared with a per-share profit of 8 cents in the same period a year ago.

Ballard Power Systems Inc. reports. Analysts expect a third-quarter loss of 14 cents (U.S.) per share, unchanged from the year-ago period.

HSBC Finance Corp. reports third-quarter results.

Jaguar Mining Inc. reports. Analysts expect nil profit in the third quarter, compared with a loss of 9 cents a year ago.

Lions Gate Entertainment Corp. reports second-quarter results. A loss of 15 cents (U.S.) a share is expected, compared with a per-share loss of 47 cents a year ago.

Starbucks Corp. reports fourth-quarter results. Per share profit of 13 cents (U.S.) is forecast, down from 21 cents a year ago.

Tuesday, Nov. 11

Remembrance Day is observed in Canada, Veterans Day in the United States.

Cameco Corp. reports. Analysts expect third-quarter share profit of 40 cents, down from 74 cents in the same period a year ago.

CI Financial Income Fund reports. Analysts expect third-quarter share profit of 46 cents, down from 50 cents in the same period a year ago.

Cinram International Inc. reports third-quarter results.

Rona Inc. reports. Analysts expect third-quarter share profit of 48 cents, down from 51 cents a year ago.

Tyco International Ltd. reports. Analysts expect fourth-quarter share profit of 73 cents (U.S.), up from 57 cents a year ago.

Wednesday, Nov. 12

Africa's ministers of finance and central bank governors meet to discuss the continent's response to the global financial crisis, in Tunis.

Thomson Reuters Corp. reports. Analysts expect third-quarter share profit of 34 cents (U.S.), down from 48 cents in the same period a year ago.

Algoma Steel Inc. reports second-quarter results.

Boralex Inc. reports. Analysts expect third-quarter share profit of 10 cents, up from 3 cents a year ago.

Corby Distilleries Ltd. reports first-quarter results.

Macy's Inc. reports third-quarter results. Analysts expect a loss of 19 cents (U.S.) a share, compared with a profit of 10 cents a year ago.

Northern Property REIT reports. Third-quarter share profit of 28 cents is forecast, up from 27 cents a year ago.

Thursday, Nov. 13

Statistics Canada reports on the trade balance for September. Economists expect a trade surplus of $5-billion, down from $5.8-billion in August.

The U.S. Department of Commerce reports on the trade balance for September. Economists forecast the trade deficit narrowing to $57-billion (U.S.) from $59.1-billion in August.

International Energy Agency publishes its monthly oil market report.

Fifth ECB Central Banking Conference (to Nov. 14), Frankfurt.

Wal-Mart Corp. posts third-quarter 2009 results. Analysts expect share profit of 76 cents (U.S.), up from 69 cents in the same period a year ago.

Loblaw Cos. Inc. reports. Third-quarter share profit of 54 cents is forecast, down from 56 cents a year ago.

TimberWest Forest Corp. reports third-quarter results.

Western Canadian Coal posts second-quarter 2009 results. Per-share profit of 36 cents is forecast, compared with a loss of 38 cents per share a year ago.

Friday, Nov. 14

Statistics Canada reports on manufacturing shipments for September. Economists forecast a decline of 2 per cent, compared with a decline of 3.7 per cent in the prior month.

Statscan reports on new vehicle sales for September. Sales are expected to have risen 1 per cent on an annualized basis, compared with a decline of 2.3 per cent in the prior month.

The U.S. Commerce Department reports on retail sales for October. Economists forecast an overall decline of 1.5 per cent, compared with a drop of 1.2 per cent in September. With auto sales stripped out, a 1-per-cent fall is expected, compared with a 0.6-per-cent drop in September.

CanWest Global Communications Corp. posts fourth-quarter results. Analysts expect a per-share loss of 22 cents, compared with a loss of 30 cents a share in the year-ago period.

AG Growth Income Fund reports. Analysts expect third-quarter share profit of 81 cents, up from 70 cents in the same period a year ago.

Boardwalk REIT reports third-quarter results.

Canadian Hydro Developers Inc. reports third-quarter results.

Chartwell Seniors Housing REIT reports third-quarter results.

Groupe Aeroplan Inc. posts third-quarter results. Per share profit of 18 cents is expected, down from 25 cents a year ago.

H&R REIT reports third-quarter results.

Orezone Resources Inc. reports third-quarter results.

Telefonica SA reports third-quarter results.
