Goodyear Tire disputes S&P ratings

AKRON, Ohio — The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. said it is not tied as closely to the nation's beleaguered auto industry as Standard & Poor's ratings service and others are indicating.
S&P on Thursday placed Goodyear ratings on CreditWatch with negative implications, a sign that S&P considers Goodyear among the companies that could see a ratings cut.
