Unlike Tim, who routinely dishes out advice to Liberals, I don't often provide guidance to the Conservative Party of Canada.
I will make a small exception to that rule; I think it is an absolutely fantastic idea for the CPC to turn itself into a federation and create independent provincial wings.
Having seen first-hand the wonders of having a national political party structured as a federation, let me be the first to say that it is the best - that's right, the BEST - move the Conservatives could make. The stronger you make the independent provincial wings, the better. Checks balances, healthy tension, etc. etc - it will take your party to new hights, trust me.
Using the Liberal Party of Canada's Quebec wing as a template for this change would be a particularly brilliant stroke of genius (don't believe me, just ask any of the current LPC(Q) executive members, they will tell you how smart they are).
If you need any help with this restructuring please feel free to call me - or any of about 5,000 Liberals across the country - for guidance.
Good luck with that.
